Advanced Dental Technology Olathe

Highly Effective, Modern Dentistry

Our office strives to use the most advanced dental technology. That’s only proper – the best family dentistry is done at a tech-forward practice! So, Dr. Farruggia and the rest of our team implement a wide range of high-quality tools. These devices ensure your treatment is precise, comfortable, and fruitful for your smile. You can learn more about them by reading the content below. Otherwise, we’d be happy to show them to you at a consultation.

Digital Impressions

Restorative and cosmetic dental services aren’t “one size fits all.” For them to work, we must personalize them for your unique smile. That’s why our team relies on a digital impression system. As we move its wand-like device around your mouth, it makes a digital model of your dental structure. This model is sent to a lab that crafts your restorations or prosthetics. Experienced laboratory technicians or our in-house milling machine then uses it to craft a custom product suited for your mouth.

Soft Tissue Laser

A soft tissue laser releases a beam of light that can remove overgrown and severely damaged gum tissue. This design allows it to treat things like gum disease, a “gummy smile,” and more. Plus, the laser acts more gently than traditional dental instruments. Since it cauterizes exposed blood vessels, you bleed less and heal quickly. It’s also minimally invasive, meaning treatment and recovery will be much more comfortable than when traditional instruments are used.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

Put simply, a cone beam scanner is an advanced dental imaging machine. It uses a cone-shaped ray of radiation to take many images of your oral cavity. These images then form a 3D model of your teeth, jaw, nerve pathways, and other mouth tissues. Given such features, the scanner lets us plan and execute our more complex treatments – dental implant surgery, root canals, etc. We’ll perform our work with exact precision and a higher rate of success.

Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera is a small device that takes live images of your teeth and gums. While in use, it can show said images on a large, chairside monitor. This setup lets us spot dental issues more easily than with the naked eye. At the same time, it also helps us explain areas of concern and the importance of a given treatment. The camera images ensure you grasp the state of your oral health and how to care for it.
