Root Canal Treatment Olathe

Relief & Rescue for Infected Teeth

Cavities are bad for adults and kids alike. After all, they weaken your teeth, cause pain, and even ruin your looks. Still, there’s something even worse for a tooth than a cavity. The truth is that bacteria could get inside your teeth and infect their pulp. Should that happen, it’s best to get our office’s root canal treatment (or our pulp therapy if the patient is a child.) What Happens During a Root Canal?

A normal root canal takes about two dental visits. After numbing your mouth, Dr. Farruggia will first use dental tools to reach your tooth’s innards. He’ll then remove the infected pulp from this interior area. Following this removal, he and our team will sanitize your tooth and fill it with a composite resin. We’ll then seal the affected tooth and place a dental crown over it.

Pulp therapy for children involves the same main steps as a root canal. However, it only removes the infected portion of the pulp, not all of it. The pulp in the root canal is left intact and a crown is placed over the top of the tooth for protection.
