Learn more about Dr. Farruggia’s educational background and interests outside of the office below.

Why Did You Become A Dentist?

Dr. Farruggia knew that he wanted to become a dentist because as a child, he had a very bad experience with his own dentist. He carried this fear and anxiety associated with the dentist with him throughout his childhood and became passionate about becoming a trustworthy and calming provider where patients could receive the care they needed without anxiety and fear. That’s why his emphasis is on spending plenty of one-on-one time with his patients, helping them feel comfortable and like they’re visiting family whenever they come to the practice. That’s also why he has Enzo in the office, our comfort dog!

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Farruggia received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1990. He stayed in the area for a few years until he relocated to the Midwest in 1995. Dr. Farruggia’s philosophy is to never stop learning, which is why he’s always searching for new ways to expand his skills and knowledge in the dental field. He regularly takes continuing education courses to stay up to date with the latest advancements and uses the most modern dental technology in his office for his patients’ comfort, including a soft tissue laser, digital impression system, and more.

What Do You Like To Do At Home?

Whenever Dr. Farruggia isn’t practicing dentistry, he enjoys spending his weekends at his lake house, spoiling and spending time with all of his animals, and fixing and racing cars.
